British GP - A difficult race

Mark Webber won the British Grand Prix, the tenth round of the Formula 1 season, which has just ended at the Silverstone circuit. The Australian Red Bull driver dominated the race, finishing ahead of Lewis Hamilton in the McLaren and the Mercedes of Nico Rosberg. The two F10s of Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso finished fourteenth and fifteenth respectively, in a race where circumstances worked against both men.
It was very disappointing for the team at the end of a weekend when it worked very hard and had got the cars onto third and seventh places on the grid. Alonso’s race was complicated by a drive-through penality, for a passing move which the Stewards deemed illegal, then a puncture meant he had to pit while fighting his way up from the back. As for Massa, he needed to change tyres on the opening lap, with a damaged right rear tyre and then had a spin, which fortunately did not cause any further difficulties.
The F1 circus will be back in action in a fortnight’s time, at Hockenheim in Germany, over the weekend of 25 July.
