British GP - Ferrari, the second force at Silverstone

Silverstone, 10 July

It was a good qualifying for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, with Fernando Alonso securing a great third place, while Felipe Massa very slightly underperformed but nevertheless took a good seventh place.

The two F10s have consistently shown as the second force behind Red Bull, the big favourites going into this event. This was already seen yesterday and today that was confirmed, both in free practice and when it mattered most, in qualifying. Both drivers nimbly got through the first and second cuts and then in Q3, Fernando managed to get everything out of the car, even if he might have been a tiny bit quicker, but for some traffic at the final corner, while Felipe did not manage to put together a clean lap and had to settle for seventh.

Both the Spaniard and the Brazilian will start from the clean side of the grid tomorrow, which is one more favourable element in terms of the race.
