A competitive Ferrari in Montreal qualifying

Montreal, 12 June

Those expecting a reaction from Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro after its bad showing in Istanbul will be pleased. The F10 proved to be competitive on this track whose characteristics are best suited to it and that was confirmed in today’s qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix. Fernando Alonso will start from the second row, having set the fourth fastest time in 1.15.435. His team-mate Felipe Massa will start from seventh place, which he secured with a lap in 1.15.688. For the first time this season, a Red Bull is not on pole: that honour today went to Lewis Hamilton, who was quickest in 1.15.105 ahead of Webber (1.15.373) and Vettel 1.15.430. As has been the case for a while, the gaps are all very small, further confirmation that Ferrari is on the pace, at least in qualifying: as for the race, let’s wait for tomorrow.
