On track at Hockenheim with the Ferrari Challenge

Hockenheim, 12 June – After a two year break, the Hockenheim circuit in Germany is once again hosting the third round of the Italian and European series of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli.

Competitors in the Italian series were the first to tackle qualifying where, in the grid for the F430s in the Trofeo Pirelli, the first pole of the day went to Andrea Belluzzi (Motor Modena) followed by Stefano Gai (Rossocorsa) and Riccardo Ragazzi (Ineco MP). As for Race 2, the starting grid sees Giorgio Senargiotto (Motor Piacenza) start from the number one slot, ahead of Andrea Belluzzi (Motor Modena) and Lorenzo Casè (Motor Piacenza). As for the gentleman drivers in Coppa Shell, the first session saw Andrea Rizzoli (Motor Piacenza) set the fastest time from Giuseppe Fascicolo (Rossocorsa Pellin) and Alessandro Chionna (Motor Piacenza). In the second session, it’s Sergio Rota (Motor Piacenza) who came out on top, getting the better of Andrea Rizzoli (Motor Piacenza) and Flavio Pierleoni (Motor Malucelli).



In the two qualifying runs for the European series to decide the grid for Sunday’s races, the top three in the first session were Philipp Baron (Baron Service), Max Blancardi (Motor Malucelli) and Bjorn Grossmann (Autohaus Gohm). In the second session, it’s Max Blancardi (Motor Malucelli) who came out on top, getting the better of Robert Pergl (Scuderia Praha) and Alexey Vasiliev (Ferrari Team Russia).

In the Coppa Shell for the gentleman drivers, first place on the grid went to Giovanni Zonzini (Motor Malucelli) who set the eight time overall, followed by Fons Scheltema (Kessel) and by Dirk Adamsky (Autohaus Saggio). At the end of the second session, it was Wido Roessler (Baron Service) who emerged fastest, beating Frank Gelf (Eberlein Kassel) and Alexander Skryabin (Ferrari Team Russia).
