Ferrari Challenge North America at the Infineon circuit

At the third round of the Ferrari Challenge North America Championship, held at California’s Infinity circuit, participants were also lucky enough to get a first hand look at the 458 Italia, the new car, with a central-rear mounted 8 cylinder engine, just launched by the Maranello company.
The first qualifying session, held on Saturday was dominated by Enzo Potolicchio (The Collection,) with Scott Tucker (Boardwalk Ferrari) second ahead of Harry Cheung (Ferrari of Silicon Valley.)
Race 1 saw a close scrap for the win between Potolicchio and Tucker, which ended in favour of The Collection’s man. Harry Cheung managed to hang onto third spot, followed home very closely by Francesco Piovanetti (The Collection.) Race 2 produced a different result with Potolicchio finishing sixth while the win went to Scott Tucker who staged a surprising climb up the order, right from the second qualifying session when he set a new track record for the Ferrari Challenge with a time of 1.44.535. Making it to the second step of the podium was Harry Cheung, with Francesco Piovanetti in third place.
Current standings show Scott Tucker topping the leader board on 1030 points, followed by Potolicchio (990) and Cheung (900.)
The North American series will be back in action at Canada’s Montreal circuit over the weekend of 12-13 June.
