Chinese GP - A good pace

Shanghai, 16 April

The second free practice session for the Chinese GP, the fourth round of the Formula 1 World Championship, has just ended at the Shanghai International Circuit. Lewis Hamilton in the McLaren came out on top at the end of the 90 minutes available to the twenty four drivers, stopping the clock with a best time of 1.35.217. Next up was Nico Rosberg in the Mercedes (1.35.465) and the other McLaren of Jenson Button (1.35.593.) A good showing for the two Ferrari men: Fernando Alonso did 33 laps in his F10, setting the tenth fastest time of 1.36.604, followed by his team-mate, Felipe Massa, who did a 1.36.944, completing 36 laps. As usual on Friday, the team concentrated on race work and the car showed a good pace during the session, even if there is still much work to do to find the right balance on the car.

The green light goes on at the end of pit lane at 11 local time tomorrow, for the start of the final free practice session.
