A weekend under the sign of the 8-cylinders on both US-coasts. At the charity auction in favour of Haiti held in California, where the first 458 Italia destined for the North American market was auctioned off for 530,000 Dollars and in Florida, where the 8-cylinders convinced on the track: the 430 GTC from the Team Risi Competizione won the 12 Hours of Sebring, the season’s first race in the American Le Mans Series.

The 458 Italia and the 430 GTC, the first is the new 8-cylinder with mid-rear engine destined to relieve the F430, the base of the car, which won at Sebring, but the two events mainly underline the great passion the US-public has for cars with the Prancing Horse.

There was great enthusiasm in Beverly Hills, where clients and collectors participated in the charity auction of the 458 Italia, and the comments were not only in favour of the auction but also of the style and the new car’s characteristics, the same enthusiasm could be felt at the box and on the grandstands in Florida where the Team Risi Competizione car driven by Jaime Melo, Gimmi Bruni and Pierre Kaffer won this year’s first race, the third our of four here in Sebring.
