Another succesful weekend for the F430 GT2

Over the last weekend Ferrari gained some important success in the international Gran Turismo Championship in the GT2 class’ penultimate race at the Spanish GT Championship, while dominating both conclusive rounds in the Italian GT Championship.
In the fifth round of the Spanish series, held at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit, victory in the first race went to the F430 driven by Peter Sundberg and Juan Manuel Lopez: the duo, racing for the Exakt Racing team, crossed the line ahead of the Porsche 911 with Miguel Amaral-Miguel A. De Castro and the Sun Red 21 with Oscar Fernandez-Jordi Gene. Sundberg and Lopez missed the second win in race two when the Ferrari with Ricardo Bravo and Lourenço da Veiga (ASM Team) crossed the line first. Thanks to this result the ASM Team consolidates its leadership in the Championship ahead of Miguel Amaral-Miguel A. De Castro, coming in third in the second race.
The final Spanish GT Championship’s race will be held on 8 November at the Portuguese Parco Algarve race track.
Meanwhile Ferrari celebrated the conclusion of the Italian GT Championship with two places on the podium in Monza. A little bit of disappointment for the few points the Megadrive team with Marco Cioci and Giuseppe Perazzini was missing for conquering the title, which, this year, went to the Porsche 997 with Francisco Cruz Martins and Sascha Maassen. The F430 GT2s dominated the first race with Giuseppe Cirò-Alberto Cerrai, Alessandro Garofano-Rui Aguas (Advanced Engineering) and Marco Frezza-Luciano Linossi (Vittoria Competizioni), while the second race Cirò and Cerrai were again faster than Giuseppe Perazzini and Marco Cioci and the Porsche 997 driven by Guido Formilli Fendi and Saverio Castellaneta.
