American Le Mans Series – Season’s final

Maranello (Modena), 11 October 2009
2009 Monterey Sports Car Championships, Round 10 of the American
The race on the Californian Laguna Seca track, the tenths and last round of the American Le Mans Series, ended prematurely for the F430 started by the Risi Competizione Team, due to a collision, for which the team from Houston had to pay a high price. Exactly in the moment when the car was leading the race, the radiator broke and the team had to withdraw the car from the race. Two weeks after the win at the Petit Le Mans, the spectacular endurance race on the Road Atlanta circuit in Georgia, the excellent start in the race today and an extraordinary Pierre Kaffer behind the wheel, surprised by the Jaguar with Paul Gentilozzi – Marc Goossens - abruptly changing their racing line - weren’t enough and the race came to an early end after just 49 laps. At the end place one and three went to the two Porsche 911 with Jörg Bergmeister-Patrick Long and Wolf Henzler-Pierre Ehret, while second place was gained by the Corvette with Jan Magnussen – Johnny O'Connell. The season’s record for the American team is definitely positive, winning all the endurance races 2009 in its class.
