Thanks to Saturday’s victory at the Petit Le Mans, the spectacular endurance race on Georgia’s Road Atlanta circuit, the ninth run in the prestigious American Le Mans Series, Ferrari gained success in its class in every race in the 2009 season.

At the end of a race held under incessant rain, suspended for almost four hours due to the bad track and weather conditions, the F430 GT2 started by Risi Competizione team and driven by the extraordinary Jaime Melo, Pierre Kaffer and Mika Salo crossed the line eighth in the overall classification after 170 laps and 694.96 kilometres, ahead of the BMW with Dirk Müller - Tommy Milner- Jörg Müller and the Porsche 911 driven by Wolf Henzler- Dirk Werner. After the win at the 12 Hours of Sebring and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, conquering victory in the 10-hour race represents an uninterrupted series of success for the Team from Houston, started in 2008.



The racing series will be back on the track on 11 October on the Californian Laguna Seca circuit.

Meanwhile in this season’s sixth round of the Italian Gran Turismo championship Ferrari dominated both races held on the Mugello circuit. In race 1 the team formed by Alberto Cerrai and Giuseppe Cirò gained this season’s first success behind the wheel of the F430 started by Advanced Engineering, ahead of another Ferrari with Alessandro Bonetti and Raffaele Giammaria (Edilcris) and the Porsche 997 with Francisco Cruz Martin – Richard Lietz. At the end of a fierce race Marco Cioci – Giuseppe Perazzini (Megadrive) gained the top spot on the podium in race 2, conquering a well-deserved win ahead of the Porsches with Cruz Martins – Lietz and Luca Formilli Fendi – Saverio Castellaneta.
The conclusive race of the Italian series will be held on the Monza circuit on the weekend of 18 October.
