Brera world's most beautiful car


New Alfa Romeo 2+2 coupe' gets design award at Paris show (ANSA) - Paris, January 18 - The Alfa Romeo Brera picked up the Most Beautiful Car of the Year award at the International Automobile Festival here .

Alfa's new 2+2 coupe' won out for esthetics over the Peugeot 407 coupe', the Chrysler 300 C Touring and the Lexus IS 250 .

The prize was given out at a special ceremony Tuesday night attended by leading figures from the worlds of sport, entertainment and the business, including Renault Formula 1 boss Flavio Briatore .



The jury which chose the Brera was headed by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte and included fashion designer Chantal Thomass, Le Point magazine editor-in-chief Franz-Olivier Gisbert and the chairman of the French Art Market Council, Herve' Poulain .

Other prizes went to the Citroen C6, for having the best interior; the Bugatti Eb 16.4, Super Car of the Year; and the Mazda Senku, which won the Concept Car of the Year prize .

Italy's Giorgetto Giugiaro, who designed the Alfa Romeo Brera, received the Grand Prize for Art .

The Alfa Romeo Brera, which replaces the GTV and will soon have a convertible version, made its debt at the recent Geneva Car Show and some observers believe it will be Alfa's ticket back to the lucrative American market .
