[Ducati Superbike]NORIYUKI HAGA (DUCATI XEROX) RUNS RINGS AROUND THE COMPETITION TO WIN RACE 2 IN GERMANY
Round 11 - Nurburgring

The Nürburgring (Germany), Sunday 4th September: Ducati Xerox factory rider Noriyuki Haga returned to winning ways today, with a stunning victory in Race 2 at the Nurburgring. Team-mate Michel Fabrizio was not so fortunate, forced to retire from both races.
The factory pair had made a determined start to race day, closing the early morning warm-up in second (Fabrizio) and third (Haga) position. The start of Race 1 did not go to plan however when Leon Haslam and Troy Corser fell at the first corner, causing a red flag and a restart of the race half an hour later, with riders reverting to their original grid positions. Noriyuki got away well, moving up to third place through the first corner. Quickly passing Carlos Checa on the privateer Ducati, the Japanese rider held second position until the end of the seventh lap when he unexpectedly lost the front of his machine. Unhurt, he hoped to be able to return to the track and returned to the box to fix a damaged handlebar but unfortunately damaged mufflers meant that it was too dangerous to continue and the team decided to retire.

[Ducati Superbike]NORIYUKI HAGA (DUCATI XEROX) TO LINE UP ON THE SECOND ROW TOMORROW AT THE RING
Round 11 - Nurburgring

The Nürburgring (Germany), 4th September 2010: today’s Superpole took place in relatively warm conditions (air temperature 16°C, track 28°C) but for the Ducati Xerox riders Noriyuki Haga and Michel Fabrizio it was not an easy afternoon; at the end of the three hard-fought phases, Haga took sixth position and Fabrizio, having registered some almost identical lap times, ninth.
The morning’s second qualifying turned out to be fairly positive for both Ducati Xerox factory riders. Noriyuki immediately improved on his best time set yesterday, by recording an impressive 1m55.4. He made a string of laps with similar times and closed the session in second position, which meant an overall qualifying position of third for this afternoon’s Superpole. Michel was able to improve by a tenth of a second which left him with the fifth fastest time ahead of the Superpole.

[Ducati Superbike]THE DUCATI XEROX TEAM RETURN TO THE RACETRACK THIS WEEKEND IN GERMANY
Round 11 - Nurburgring

The Nürburgring (Germany), Tuesday 31st August: after a month’s break, the World Superbikes are ready to restart their engines and return to the racetrack; the next stop for the Ducati Xerox Team is Germany, and the historic Nürburgring.
Noriyuki celebrated podium success last season in Race 1 at the Ring but it was the previous year, 2008, that brought the most satisfaction, with a double win for the Japanese rider at the German track, in spite of his riding with a broken collarbone! Michel on the other hand is yet to step up to the Ring’s rostrum, his best result thus far a sixth place finish in 2008. Having returned to the SBK calendar in 2008, after an eight year break, the circuit has been characterised by some very unpredictable weather conditions that have delayed and cut short races in the last two seasons. The historic Ring, located in the heart of Germany’s Black Forest, has played host to motorsport events for more than eighty years; this will be the fifth time that the World Superbike circus visits the track.

[Ducati Superbike]DUCATI WILL FOCUS ITS TECHNICAL RESOURCES ON PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT AND WILL NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE 2011 WORLD SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP WITH A FACTORY TEAM
SBK RELEASE

Borgo Panigale (Bologna - Italy), 27 August 2010 - Ducati, having participated with a factory team in every edition of the World Superbike Championship since it began in 1988, winning 16 Manufacturers’ world titles and 13 Riders’ world titles along the way, has decided to limit its participation to the supply of machines and support to private teams.
“This decision is part of a specific strategy made by Ducati, the aim being to further increase technological content in production models that will arrive on the market in the coming years. In order to achieve this objective, the company’s technical resources, until now engaged with the management of the factory Superbike team, will instead be dedicated to the development of the new generation of hypersport bikes, in both their homologated and Superbike race versions,” declared Gabriele Del Torchio, President and CEO of Ducati. “I would like to thank Nori and Michel, and all of the riders that have contributed to the great history of Ducati in Superbike, but above all the Ducati employees; it is their hard work and professionalism that has allowed us to achieve such important results. A big thank you also to all of the partners that have supported us, first and foremost Xerox of course. I would also like to acknowledge the Flammini brothers who have managed the championship for so long, and the FIM, the organization with which we have continuous, constructive relations.”

[Ducati Superbike]FABRIZIO (DUCATI XEROX) BATTLES AGAINST THE BRITS TO TAKE FOURTH IN RACE 1 AT SILVERSTONE
Round 10 - Silverstone

Silverstone (UK), Sunday 1st August : a very difficult day for the Ducati Xerox team and its riders Michel Fabrizio and Noriyuki Haga at Silverstone today; after two extremely hard-fought races, in which the British contingent of riders dominated proceedings, the best result for the Italian factory team was a fourth place finish achieved by Michel in Race 1.

In that first race Michel started well from third on the grid, holding on to that position for the first seven laps, behind Jonathan Rea and Cal Crutchlow. Passed by Leon Haslam during the eighth lap, Fabrizio began to lose ground in the final stages due to a lack of rear traction, but was nevertheless able to hold fourth all the way to the finish line, to take some solid championship points. Noriyuki, starting from the fourth row, had problems from the start; the rear of his 1198 was sliding around to such an extent that it was difficult to open the throttle out of the corners. He was lapping in eleventh position for the best part of the race but the level of feeling worsened in the last laps, and the Japanese rider unfortunately lost three positions, eventually closing the race in fourteenth place.

[Ducati Superbike]FABRIZIO (DUCATI XEROX) SCORES THIRD IN TODAY’S SUPERPOLE AT NEW-LOOK SILVERSTONE
Round 10 - Silverstone

Silverstone (UK), Saturday 31st July : Ducati Xerox rider Michel Fabrizio was more than satisfied with today’s Superpole result at Silverstone when, despite some very stiff competition from several riders, particularly the British contingent, he closed the session with the third fastest time, ensuring himself of a front row start for tomorrow’s races, alongside Cal Crutchlow, Jonathan Rea and Jakub Smrz.
Rain overnight meant that this morning’s second qualifying took place on a still damp track. Despite their best efforts, the Superbike riders were largely unable to improve on yesterday’s best times, with only two riders managing to go any faster. Noriyuki and Michel made good use of the 45-minute session, making small but all-important set-up refinements but, with the outcome conditioned by the damp track surface, results had not changed by the close of play, Fabrizio thus closing fifth and Haga twelfth, based on yesterday’s lap times.

[Ducati Superbike]GIORNATA DI APPRENDIMENTO PER I PILOTI DUCATI XEROX OGGI A SILVERSTONE
Round 10 - Silverstone

[Ducati Superbike]THE DUCATI XEROX TEAM CROSSES THE CHANNEL FOR ROUND 10 AT NEW-LOOK SILVERSTONE
Round 10 - Silverstone

Silverstone (UK), Tuesday 27th July: the Ducati Xerox Team heads to the UK or, more specifically, to Silverstone, the only “new” track to feature on this year’s World Superbike calendar, after a two year absence. The upcoming tenth round is also the last event before the championship’s traditional month-long summer break; Round 11 is scheduled for 5th September at the Nürburgring in Germany.
The historic Silverstone circuit in Northamptonshire, UK, has undergone some major restructuring during recent months and the track layout is now very different to that on which the Superbikes last raced in 2007. The last time Noriyuki Haga and Michel Fabrizio visited the English circuit, they experienced some particularly bad weather that resulted in the cancellation of Race 2. Race 1 went ahead as planned but heavy rain conditioned the outcome and while Noriyuki finished on the podium behind Troy Bayliss (race winner on the Ducati), Michel unfortunately crashed out. Haga has raced at Silverstone on five previous occasions, and has achieved seven podium finishes over nine races, an impressive record. Michel is yet to celebrate a podium finish at this particular circuit but he, Noriyuki and the entire Ducati Xerox Team are looking forward to the challenge that the new look track will present.

[Ducati Superbike]FABRIZIO (DUCATI XEROX) WORKS HARD TO TAKE PODIUM IN RACE 2 AT BRNO TODAY
Round 9 - Brno

Brno (Czech Republic), Sunday 11th July: a day of mixed fortunes for Michel Fabrizio and the Ducati Xerox Team on the Czech circuit of Brno today; a technical problem forced the Italian to retire in race 1 but he fought back to take a well deserved podium in race 2, after battling against Ruben Xaus (BMW). Noriyuki Haga on the other hand, starting from fifteenth on the grid, rode two strong races and made up many positions to close sixth and fifth.
Noriyuki Haga made a great start in the first race, carving his way through the field to move up from fifteenth on the grid to sixth by the end of the first lap. He chased Sylvain Guintoli for the first few laps and then Ruben Xaus but, although he got close, he was unable to pass the BMW. In the last part of the race he started to suffer from tyre wear and fought to the line to maintain sixth position, just ahead of James Toseland. Michel Fabrizio found himself caught up in traffic at the first corner and was in thirteenth position on the opening lap.

Over the next five laps he made a good recovery as far as eighth place but unfortunately, as he was beginning to gain on Toseland, he suffered a mechanical problem with the engine and, finding he could not change gear, he was obliged to retire to the garage during the twelfth lap.
