Qualifying ahead of the seventh and last round of the Trofeo Audemars Piguet Maserati Europa took place at the 'Ricardo Tormo' circuit in Valencia, Spain, today - Saturday 7 October. In pole position is the quick Alberto Cerrai (1¿45"236) followed by the youngsters Niccolò Oddi-Giacomo Ricci (1¿45"326). In third is the crew formed by guest driver and Spanish tennis star Juan Carlos Ferrero and Diego Alessi (1¿46"237). Also fast was current Trofeo leader, Maurizio Fabris, who set the fourth best time of 1¿46"505. He will start from row two in trying to defend his overall lead over Cerrai.
A close fight is expected between the two going for the Trofeo Maserati title, Maurizio Fabris and Alberto Cerrai (in pole at Valencia last season and winner of the 2005 season). It will not be easy for Cerrai as he will have to spend an extra 12 seconds in the pit lane after securing victory in the last race at Mugello.

The 50 minute race will take place tomorrow, Sunday 8 October, at 9.10. The race will be shown live on Eurosport 2 and SportItalia.
