The ZENT CERUMO SC430 was giving chase in 2nd position until machine trouble forced it to retire from the race. After that, Michigami drove on with apparent ease to the checkered and the team's first victory of the season.?This victory also gave the Honda NSX machines their seventh straight victory at Twin Ring Motegi in seven years.?In the GT300 class, the YUNKER-POWER TAISAN PORSCHE (Nobuteru Taniguchi/Dominik Farnbacher) team that started from the 2nd position on the class grid, took the lead soon after the start and ran on to victory unchallenged and went on to claim the victory, its first of the season.?(Spectators: 38,000)??

Winner Comments? No. 18 TAKATA DOME NSX [GT500]?Ryo Michigami: "I saw how fast our machine was when Kogure won the pole position yesterday. With this victory we have proved that we are not only fast but strong as well. I could have run faster if I had to, but with the trouble in the gearbox. So, I ran carefully and made sure that I was ready to pick up the pace is the competitors started closing the gap on me. We were lucky when our biggest competitor, No. 38, was forced to retire. That made things easier for us. This win us has raised our position in the season standing within reach of the title, so we are going to do our best to win it in the two remaining races."?Takashi Kogure: "In the last round at Suzuka, I had the biggest crash of my career and wrecked our machine. I am grateful to Honda and our team for repairing it in time for this race. I was able to run at a good pace and hand the car over to Michigami san with an advantage. I was worried about the trouble in the gearbox, but I believed that he would be able to bring it home in the lead."??No. 26 YUNKER-POWER TAISAN PORSCHE [GT300]?Nobuteru Taniguchi: "Today was fantastic! I am glad that I was able to help give our team owner, Chiba san, his 26th victory-the same number as our race number. I went out 100% and ran a better race than I had ever expected. Our Porsche is fast on the straights, so I am determined to do well at the last race at Fuji Speedway, too."?Dominik Farnbacher: "It has been my wish since I was a child to win a SUPER GT race, so I feel great! I am grateful to our team owner, Mr. Chiba, who gave me this chance, and to everyone on the team. The race wasn't that hard because we had a good margin between us and the following teams. All I had to do was to maintain the lead that Taniguchi san gave me until the finish."?
